Internet Safety Reminder!

The internet is an amazing tool that connects people from all over the world with each other. But what makes the Internet amazing can also make it dangerous, because anyone can log on and pretend to be someone they're not.

Never give out your personal information online.
Would you tell a stranger who you are and where you live? No way! Well chatting online is just like talking to strangers (except online, you can't even SEE them!) SO never give anyone your whole name, address or phone number on the internet, in email, in an instant message or in a chat room. If you know your Social Security Number or credit card or bank account number, definitely do not give those out either. And while you're at it, don't post anyone else's information, and be careful telling other people online the name of your school, sports team or favorite hang out. That information is yours and we want to keep it that way.
Don't use your real name in your screen name.
And while you're at it, don't include your age or your hometown either. You may think your screen name is super creative, but if it says too much about you, people you don't know can find out more about you then you think.
Keep your password to yourself.
Giving out your password is like giving your brother or sister the key to your room. Do you want them in there checking out all of your stuff whenever they feel like it? NO way! Same goes for your personal stuff online.
Read the rules and privacy options for websites that let you connect with others online.
We mean really read 'em. Some sites only let certain people who have registered read posts, chat and look at other users' webpages. Others let anyone who come to the site check out everything. No matter which kind of site you're on, find out if you can restrict your information so that it can only be seen by the people you choose.
Only share stuff online that you don't mind anyone seeing.
Anyone can use the internet and most people do. That includes your parents, your friends' parents, your teachers, and the creepy guy in the back of math class who never raises his hand. If you want private info to stay private, don't post it online.
Once you post something online, it stays online.
You can delete something you've typed or posted from a site, but people can get to older versions of that site where your info still exists. If you're not sure you should say something on the internet, you probably shouldn't.
Don't download anything if you don't know who it's from.
Downloads can give your computer viruses, mess up your applications and even cause your email server to send messages with your name on them to people you don't know. You can set the preferences on your computer to warn you about downloads before it opens them. So stop and think before you download anything you're not sure of. You don't know where that thing has been.
Keep your online friendships online.
There are all kinds of cool people using the internet. But there's no way of keeping the creeps out. If someone you met online wants to meet you in person, tell an adult. If you do end up meeting face to face bring a parent or another close adult with you.
And finally, if you feel unsafe, tell an adult.
If someone or something online is making you uncomfortable, tell a parent, a teacher or another adult you trust. Ask the adult to help you report the incident to the website, or if necessary to the police. Your actions might end up helping a lot of other people too.

Recently in ROBLOXia, there has been a Shamrock and Clover buzz around today. But with today's date, it's no surprise! Because today is St. Patrick's Day! Let's look at some of the items!

UCR Presidential Controversy Continues

Catlord5 declared on February 17 that he would be giving UCR away to another because of RL problems. This led many to suggest that Cat would be hosting elections, because he was 'That sort of president', and also gave many HRs and Members heart attacks when they learned this, when they had been hoping for Catlord5 to stay. Names were flying around left and right, before on February 18th, Catlord5 stated that he would be keeping UCR.

Catlord5's mom stated that he would only be allowed to be on roblox on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, because he was 'addicted' to the game. Catlord, on the 18th, said that he would be keeping UCR, and would be 'semi-active'. Many are glad because of this, but some suggested that having a semi-active president would eventually destroy the group.

Weekend Warrior hat: Quick Review

I have always had a love of shades on Roblox. It's just unfortunate that there isn't an awful lot of them to choose from. So when I saw the Weekend Warrior shades pop up on the catalog I was quite excited, however, this excitement was short lived.

The hat was originally on sale for R$1000 and is now selling privately for about R$1300-R$1500, and to be honest, I don't think it's worth it.

The shades do look good when worn, that's if you forget the fact that the design on the front of the shades makes them look like a 3 year old smudged paint all over them!

However, if you're just looking to make some profit this may work out for you. If you buy the hat now the price still has some room to grow.

Overall I think this hat is very poor, I wouldn't buy this unless you're looking to make a few bucks.

How to buy 'limited' items

The question when buying new limited items after everyone has bought them and put them on sale is, is it worth it?

It can be frustrating when you buy a Limited item for lets say R$1000 then the price drops down to maybe R$800. 

However, it can be immensely rewarding when you get an item at a low price and sell it for much more! 

So, how do you know when an item is buyable or not? 

Well, there are a few things to look out for. 

1. How quickly did it sell out- If an item sells out very quickly this is a sure sign that the item is popular and the price is going to rise. Get the item asap at this point and try to get the lowest price you can for it. Then wait a few hours/ days until the price has escalated. It is important to be patient and not to resell the item as soon as you get it. 

2. The original selling price- If the original selling price was high the item is probably good looking and people are going to want it. This will indicate if the price is going to go up or down. 

3. Use your own personal judgement- Be curious! Take a look at the item, see if it's selling well and the price is going up or down. 

4. Price fluctuations- If an item is low at the moment but has been high in the past, BUY IT! Items prices fluctuate up and down all the time, buy the item on a low spike to make a profit on the high spike!

This has been a very, very basic summary of things you need to be aware of when buying limited items.

A New ROBLOX Hacker Group WARNING!

A new hacker group has been taking accounts rapidly over the past few weeks! They call themselves the KHJR Crew or RATs Crew. This hack has gotten more than 300 accounts because this hack messages all of the person’s friends too, once they have been infected.

To get people’s accounts, this group PMs random ROBLOXians, like you, this message:

“[LINK BLANKED OUT FOR SAFETY REASONS]

What this is; a basic LUA script generation program: Coded by the K.H.J.R. Crew. It can enhance your very places by allowing you an easy and fast doorway into LUA scripts. It’s abilities are limited only to your imagination; Enjoy.”

If you receive this message, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK THEY SEND YOU. This is how they get your account. Once you open the file they got you to download, it automatically sends the same message that you got to all of your friends. After this, you get banned for 7 days and they may have your password, and they may have even CHANGED it.

So, long story short. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES ON ROBLOX! This will save you from being hacked by this devious group. Remember to tell all of your friends about this so they don’t fall for it, too.

UCR Gets New Leader.

On Valentines Day, TDFall, former president of the United Clan of ROBLOX, steps down from his position from leader and announces that Catlord5 will be the new president. Many members will miss TDFall as president even though he is still of high influence at the council rank, and are wondering whether or not he made a good choice on the new president.

Catlord5 says to TDFall as a farewell: "TD, words can not express the respect I have for you. Not only have you been a great leader, you've been a great friend. Sure, certain things I've disagreed with you on, but that's only natural. Just remember, TD, that we're always here; come back and visit (I know you're not quitting yet but still). UCR will miss you; I'll miss you. Thank you, thank you(!) for giving me the chance to own the clan that I have stayed in since the time I came back to ROBLOX. You were great."

But some are glad that TDFall is gone, saying that if he had stayed, the controversial 'reinvention reform' that he made might have gone through, and eliminated democracy in UCR. The Reinvention Reform was originally created to promote activity throughout the HRs, and included a complex 'branch' system where you could pay to get the rank of Contractor, now Promoter.

Supporters like Hacker1leo say: "The branches are meant to improve work in UCR, and they do not take away from the main group- in fact it is intended to strengthen it."

Opposers state: "It will utterly destroy the group to give one person too much power individually. Yes I agree, it will keep them active, but theres a big problem with it also: It is giving the HRs too much power and influence in the group. It will destroy member rights, and if you look at history, especially C&G history, you might realize how rare it is to find who uses his power correctly all of the time, and even most of the time. Our problem isn't the activity, and in some areas is a great idea, but create a new one that will work. Create one that relies less on individual power and that will rely more on people power and member rights."

This controversy is probably going to die down as the vote was cancelled and it is catlord5's decision whether or not to make a new vote on the forum so that votes cannot be deleted.

Despite the controversy, TDFall was known by many to be a great leader and an influential member of UCR. He will continue influencing the group as a council member, and will perhaps help UCR become a better group overall.

Well, it started at 2009, my best friend, Chocolatbuff and I was playing Tank-Tank, a game by Anominus, wich consiste of respawning tanks that... Well... Shoots other tanks. It was a tuff battle, but at the end I won, and he desided to get a other tank and shoot after me. I barely survived, but my tank was rendered useless, so I jump out, got out my Space Sandwich gear for laughs while he's charging towards me. At the last second, I use it for my last "munch", and some how, just before he hits me, he explodes! At that moment, the Sub-Space Sandwich was born. I triple-checked the script, and it should be harmless. I tryed many times to reenact the awesome glitch, but it never worked. And thats why I love that insane sandwich!

DriveBlox Unlimited Game Review

Summary:

DriveBlox Unlimited is a original racing gamed that combines a free roam driving envirorment within a tycoon game. In this game, you start out with 1 of 4 starter cars. And over time while driving you can buy better cars with the money you recieve. (You can also get a house as well)

Pros:

*Wide variety of cars, ranging from exotic sports cars to normal American cars

*Open envirorment (More terrain is still being worked on)

*Race track: The airport near the spawn is a perfectly set up drag strip race track, and it even has a offical race track near it!

*Very good for rping

*Houses: Buying a house not only gives you a place for rp and your car, but earns you revenue ($$$) overtime

Cons:

*Only 1 car has the Nitrox feature

New physics coming our way!

I'm proud to announce that relatively soon Roblox will be bringing out some new additions to the games physics engine. 


In a video by Roblox; one of the co-founders of the game and chief scientist Erik Cassel showed off the new features of the engine. 


They have made some major modifications which adds a whole new level to the game. 


New features include-


Water- Animated water has been revealed. The water has 'swishing' movements on the surface, however, this isn't the big reveal. The best part of the water is that it can now 'interact' with objects. For example wood objects will float whereas heavy concrete will sink to the bottom of the deep blue sea. How great is that? 


Rope- The update will also include rope as a material which can be used. As Erick Cassel demonstrated he made a rickety bridge across a lake. When he preceded to fire a rocket at the bridge ( as you do ) the rope snapped and the bridge fell. 


Although these will be incredible additions to the game, lets hope they don't cause extra LAG. 


Overall the most exciting part for me personally will be seeing what the Roblox user community can create. I'm expecting some awesome new models and interesting games coming up.

Winter Bowler

The Winter Bowler is a LimitedU hat, and is selling for R$ 1,000.

It has been selling since 12/22/2011, and still has not been sold out yet.

Appearance: The hat itself is a re-texture of the Outrageous Builder's Club only LimitedU hat, the "Radioactive Man". What I've think they done is add snowflakes on the patches where the radioactive signs on the "Radioactive Man" where, and changed the Hue of it.

I do not recommend this hat to people who are looking for profit. As far as I'm concerned, this hat will sell below R$ 1,000. I would say about R$ 500 - R$ 800. It will maybe take 2-3 weeks to get all sold out.

Overall, this hat is not very good in terms of it's selling price and time being sold.

Breaking news: Roblox Opposes SOPA

In a blog post today Roblox officially announced that it opposes the SOPA act. I for one also oppose the act, despite me not being an American citizen.

In the statement Roblox gives three key reasons they are against the act and also go on to explain that they think it will hinder innovation and startup companies.

Posting in the forums- The Do's

The Roblox forums, they really are always heaving with activity and sprawled thoughts. For newcomers the forums can be a scary place. When you make a mistake people tend not to be too forgiving. I once posted something in the wrong forum accidentally and got loads of haters!

Want this to happen to you?

Of course not; here are some of the do's.

Do's:

Make sure what you're saying makes sense. This is especially important in the 'Suggestions and Ideas' forum so people understand the point you're trying to get across. Simply reading over what you have said a loud.

This ties in with using good grammar, this is important or basically your just going to get trolled, personal assaulted and hated. Getting a reputation for bad grammar on the forums isn't good. In general people won't take you and your opinions as seriously as they may have done.

Have fun. Sometimes it's nice to just have a laugh on the forums, discuss interesting ideas in the suggestions and ideas sections, talk about all things Roblox!

The future is nigh

Roblox has taken a step forward recently and is now heading into an era of new, high tech and imaginative items.  Lets take a look at one of these incredible new items! 


Here we have the Laservision Shades G3. 


This item looks exceedingly cool, however theres more under the skin; it also fires laser beams. 


I mean, come on, what more could you want, these are laser firing goggles, laser-firing-goggles! I think the Roblox-cortex-item hoard part of my brain just had an explosion. *Rambo103' brain error message pops up, item awesomeness overload please restart brain*


The shades look very flash when worn on a users body and would go well with a range of other hats e.g. JJ5X5's top hat.
I personally love the modern and futuristic theme of the item.
All in all, if you can, you should definitely buy these before they go off sale. Who wouldn't want to be more like this guy?

Subarctic Adventurer Review

The Subarctic Adventurer came out about a week ago, and I mst say, I'm very satisfied with the hat. I'm bummed that Roblox was stupid enough to make this hat a BC only hat but It still is nothing more than awesome. I have found out that if you combine this hat with the Deathfyre Mask it gives it a more arctic wear look to it.

Paintball [2 New Maps] Review

Probably one of the most popular war games on Roblox for a while, Paintball (by Daxter33) is alot like his Laser tag games but this time with more features added in to it. You can level up throughout the game by getting points from kills or capturing flags, and every 10 levels you get you earn a new gun type. (Such as a sniper, rifle, shotgun, etc.) You can open the gun selection menun by pressing P ingame.

Pros:

-Variety of maps and 4 different gametypes

-Features such as grenades (F) and crawling (X)
-Very fun and extremely addictive

-Easy to use controls

-Offers a new, more advanced game play that easily surpasses his older laser tag games

-Easyier to identify teamates

Cons:

-No kill streak rewards unlike his past laser tag games

-Team uniforms are a little dull, but they are helpful identifying teammates /enemies.

To sum it up, Paintball, by Daxter33 is a very fun and addictive game that is alot lot daxter's past war games. This game is definately worth playing over and over again.

Score: 10 out of 10

Desperado Hat Review

Hello everyone, today I decided to take a look at the Desperado hat which came out on the 3rd of January.

Well, the name Desperado brings the likes of Clint Eastwood to mind. Thats probably because he was wearing this hat in some of his 'Wild West movies'. He can be seen here wearing it in 'The good the bad and the ugly'. With this in mind I thought the overall idea of bringing this hat out was excellent; I know there are a lot of Cowboys/Cowgirls on Roblox, so surely this would be a hat to please. 


The pricing of the hat at R$75 is very reasonable, I believe this opens the hat up to people who have normal BC more and maybe some of the NBC players. 


Anyway, I bought the hat and equipped it in game to get a good look at how the hat fitted on a users head and to see what the hats textures were like. 


When I entered the game it appeared I had got more than I had bargained for, as you can see on the in-game image, part of the hat also wraps round your face, giving it a sort of 'Zorrowy' feel. 


 However I think these 'Wild west' and 'Spanish' themes come together nicely and create an all round nicely priced, good textured and cool looking hat. From me, it gets an 8/10.

The Sword's Of the Future!

Robloxian Ninja's everywhere will buy these sword's. No, you can't take them out but this stylish, fun and golden sword pack is much better then the old version. Robloxians everywhere love this new hat, some Robloxians like the old versions. Anyway, hope you guy's like the new version as much as I do!
